I keep discovering series that are web serials。 Lucky when I catch up with the books， I’m able to go to Royal Road and read more so that is how I have read book 7 before its release。 I like that Jason got off earth but I was hoping for more monster surge and less political maneuvering。 Does he even fight with monsters any more？

Note: The chapters are available online pre-release。 I'm not sure I've finished the book but I'm 80 chapters in and it seems to be heading towards another story arc so I think I finished book 7。The whimsy and wonder I complained about being gone is back。 This book manages to be dark at a couple points that feels less grimdark/edgy and more authentic/meaningful too。 Definitely a better book than the last one。 Still， I am getting tired of the battle with Builder/Purity。 Big things take place in th Note: The chapters are available online pre-release。 I'm not sure I've finished the book but I'm 80 chapters in and it seems to be heading towards another story arc so I think I finished book 7。The whimsy and wonder I complained about being gone is back。 This book manages to be dark at a couple points that feels less grimdark/edgy and more authentic/meaningful too。 Definitely a better book than the last one。 Still， I am getting tired of the battle with Builder/Purity。 Big things take place in this book but it doesn't feel like it changes the stakes much by the end。 These books are fairly long， we've been actively battling the builder since book 3。。。 that's like 3000 pages by now。 Something needs to change the stakes。Also this is entirely personal but I'm having a hard time following the battles。 I know Jason's powers very well。 But being dropped into the other fighters' ability sets that were gone for three books。。。 even with the descriptions， I'm getting lost/losing interest。 It feels overcomplicated。 This might be a personal taste thing。This is still my favorite LitRPG series， and if I end up dropping it in the next couple books。。。 well I still had a blast with the first 5。 （And the first third of 6）。 It's been a great ride and I highly recommend it。 。。。more

Good to be back in Pallimustus。 The dynamic feels better again， and I've been more excited for what's going to happen in a way that， perhaps because Jason was so 'important'， it seemed like it didn't really matter。 I want more character， but it would probably slow it down too much。 I do hope the cast continues to naturally expand without characters getting left behind， or having to make a 3 hour movie just so each super hero get at least a minute or two to barely do something。 A trick balance， b Good to be back in Pallimustus。 The dynamic feels better again， and I've been more excited for what's going to happen in a way that， perhaps because Jason was so 'important'， it seemed like it didn't really matter。 I want more character， but it would probably slow it down too much。 I do hope the cast continues to naturally expand without characters getting left behind， or having to make a 3 hour movie just so each super hero get at least a minute or two to barely do something。 A trick balance， but as long as characters aren't being forced in for no reason I'm sure it will be fine。 Not sure what we're looking forward to at the end of this book， I know they still have purity issues。 I hope the author can find a character driven direction and doesn't just focus on "saving the world"。 I think that was one of the weakest points of the earth plot for me 。。。more

I don't know exactly what the chapter split will be for this book but I think I've read to the natural pause point。 I was looking forward to this and while I wanted to get to where it was going faster， I liked the tension the feeling of 'but I just want it to happen already'。 As for the full macro plot， I'm confused on the details （not sure if it's because I've missed something or if it's just confusing） and and have reached the not really caring part。 Fanatical religious characters are a trope I don't know exactly what the chapter split will be for this book but I think I've read to the natural pause point。 I was looking forward to this and while I wanted to get to where it was going faster， I liked the tension the feeling of 'but I just want it to happen already'。 As for the full macro plot， I'm confused on the details （not sure if it's because I've missed something or if it's just confusing） and and have reached the not really caring part。 Fanatical religious characters are a trope I don't particularly like and that's super present in this series， with it being more prominent further into the series。 It's unlikely the theme will decrease anytime soon。 I feel like the next few will proceed like the previous books: first of the triad is good followed by two more that are decreasingly not good heading towards a shift in the story that'll revive it and make you want more。 Repeat。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 *sigh* I missed this team （family） and I missed this world。 I missed the impossible feeling so much more possible when six wholigans are standing shoulder to shoulder ready to face the terror and chaos together。Moments that made me ridiculously emotional: - the reunions- Shade pulling Jason back from the edge and Jason's continued dedication to those he cares for （"That you asked is all the reason I need"）- Farrah shouting at Soramir- the entirety of the last three chapters。Also， umm， Dawn annih *sigh* I missed this team （family） and I missed this world。 I missed the impossible feeling so much more possible when six wholigans are standing shoulder to shoulder ready to face the terror and chaos together。Moments that made me ridiculously emotional: - the reunions- Shade pulling Jason back from the edge and Jason's continued dedication to those he cares for （"That you asked is all the reason I need"）- Farrah shouting at Soramir- the entirety of the last three chapters。Also， umm， Dawn annihilating a city has to be one of my favorite literary moments of all time。 。。。more
